Born in Paris, Jacques d'Armagnac, duke de Nemours took part in the ligue du bien public. Governor of the Île-de-France, he conspired against King louis xi and was executed. His son, Louis d'Armagnac, duke de Nemours (ca. 1472-1503), fought in the wars in Italy, was defeated by Gon-zalve de Cordova, and killed at Cerignola, Italy.
